At Her Nation Magazine, we had the honor of speaking with Barbie Moreno, trauma-informed coach, intuitive guide, and founder of From Wounds to Wisdom. Within a few minutes, we realized why so many women trust her. Barbie addresses burnout in a helpful, practical, and intimate way. She doesn't spout buzzwords or trends; she speaks from experience, heart, and true expertise.

Barbie has built her brand by helping successful women who feel "soul-tired." Committed to guiding women from burnout to balance. Her approach blends storytelling, nervous system healing, and intuitive awareness. She teaches that burnout is not physical exhaustion...it's a symptom of living out of alignment for too long. Through her work, Barbie helps women reconnect with themselves beneath all of the doing, achieving, and giving.

The Woman Behind the Wisdom

This wasn't always a job that Barbie did. She came from a successful corporate background and made everything that she thought she was meant to want for herself. Yet she continued to wake up with an empty, unfulfilled feeling. That moment of truth was to be her turning point.

Now, with From Wounds to Wisdom, she helps other women access the kind of clarity that she found, guiding them as they walk from surviving to self-embodiment, from pressure to peace. Her message is simple but powerful: You don't need fixing; you need reminding.

You don't need fixing; you need reminding.

Barbie sat down as a guest with Sabrina Victoria on Her Talk Show recently and one of the first things Sabrina said was,

“Barbie’s not here to fix you. She’s here to help you.”

That line captures the heart of what Barbie does. She doesn’t promise quick answers. She helps women come back to themselves

What We Learned from Barbie

Our talk with Barbie wasn’t just inspiring, it was eye-opening. She helped us see burnout differently and understand that it’s not something to fight against but something to learn from.

Burnout Starts When Joy Ends

If you wake up every single day dreading your day, you’re in burnout. That one sentence says it all. Burnout is not just about too much work and too many hours. It begins the moment we stop enjoying what we are doing. Barbie explained that when life becomes a self-checklist rather than a choice, we lose touch with what is truly important.

If you wake up every single day dreading your day, you’re in burnout.

She talked about how many women fall into a routine of doing everything for everyone else and forgetting themselves. Each day is a variation on the previous, and even rest loses its status as work. Her advice was straightforward: first, pay attention. Ask yourself: Is my day fulfilling or exhausting? Awareness is the first step to change, and it only requires the price of honesty.

The Body Always Tells the Truth

Barbie reminded us that our bodies more often speak louder than our minds. Exhaustion, headaches, the glass of wine we 'need' to relax every night - these aren't random symptoms, they're signals.

She told her own story of how she came to understand that her own body was protesting after years of driving through both physical and emotional exhaustion. When we continue on any day, day in and day out, when we're drained, our bodies eventually respond. It's not a weakness to recognize those signs - it's wisdom.

Barbie is very clear about how our nervous systems are constantly communicating with us. When we are nervous, restless, or unsure, it's our body telling us we need care.

Doing nothing to those signs doesn't cause them to just go away; it just delays the healing.

The message was clear: our bodies will always communicate, and the longer we minimize them, the louder they are.

Healing Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated

Barbie isn’t the kind of coach who tells you to change your entire life overnight. She believes transformation starts small.

“Take five minutes each day,” she said, “to sit with yourself and ask what felt aligned today and what didn’t.”

The simple act of checking in creates awareness, and awareness creates change. It's not about being perfect; it's about being honest with yourself. Spending a few minutes each day reconnecting with your intuition can help you make better decisions.

Also, she reminded us that healing is not usually linear. Some days will be out of control, and some will be peaceful, and that is normal. The most important thing is to actually enjoy the discomfort of taking the first step over and over again.

When Healing Becomes the Hustle

One of the most honest moments in the conversation came when Sabrina admitted:

‘I purposely have stayed unhealed in certain areas of my life…because…I’m so self-aware of this… and I use the unhealed mindset as fuel to keep going to succeed.”

Barbie's reaction was kind but firm. She explained that many women are motivated by their pain. It encourages them to move on, but it also isolates them. Healing doesn’t have to be a drain on your power, it could sharpen it.

She explained to us that so many of us are afraid to slow down because we believe our ambition will disappear if we rest. But healing doesn't take the fire away from us; it makes us burn brighter and longer. When we step out of a place of love versus fear, our success becomes sustainable.

Barbie believes that real success comes not from proving anything. It is born from peace, clarity, and alignment. "You can still have everything you want," she said, "but you don't have to mutilate yourself to have it."

The Heart of Her Work

Barbie's professional background and personal story create a rare balance, part science, part soul. She teaches from lived experience, while deeply understanding the behavior patterns and nervous system responses behind healing.

What makes her so relatable is her honesty. She doesn't pretend to have all the answers. Instead, she helps women discover their own. That is the humility that, combined with expertise, makes her work so powerful.

She uses practical techniques like breathwork, mindfulness, and body awareness. She then combines them with intuitive coaching to guide her clients back to balance. Each woman with whom she works learns to reconnect with her inner rhythm and let go of the need to continually prove her worth.

“You are worthy of a life you want to be a part of,” Barbie shared near the end of their conversation. “One that you’re proud of, and excited to live.”

That line stayed with us long after the recording ended.

Who She Works With

Barbie works mostly with women in their thirties, forties, and fifties, women who bear the weight of careers, families, and expectations. They're capable, strong, and usually admired by others. But there is a feeling of disconnect underneath it all.

She assists them in slowing down to heal the old patterns and finding a new rhythm that feels good again. Her clients learn that slowing down doesn't mean losing momentum; it means gaining control. Because, as she puts it, life isn't meant to be all about holding it all together - it's all about feeling whole.'

Her sessions and workshops are specifically geared towards helping women to reconstruct a relationship with their bodies and emotions. It's about learning to live with awareness rather than on autopilot.
