Does Your Content Look Like a Closet Crisis?

A Content Strategy for Women in Business
Last week, I frantically scoured my closet, annoyed and frustrated. I had a networking event and a brand photo shoot on the same day, and I couldn't figure out what to wear. I was pulling shirts, letting hangers fly, rejecting outfits in under 10 seconds, and scattering jeans across the floor in a full-fledged fashion explosion.
My silver-and-shades-of-blue statement necklace was perfect for my brand. It’s fun, creative, and a total conversation starter. But I needed the right outfit to match. I tried on almost everything. Nothing felt right.
I had such anxiety, I almost texted to cancel.
I finally decided on black slacks, a white t-shirt (not the see-through one , a black belt with a silver buckle, and black boots. Simple, intentional, coordinated. The necklace was the star. And everything else supported it.
A kicka$$ power outfit takes coordination, strategy, and planning. So does marketing your business with a strong content strategy.
The Random Acts of Content Problem
I see brilliant, talented businesswomen creating content, but it's not working well together.
A blog post here. A newsletter there. A few social posts that feel completely disconnected from both. Each piece might be good on its own, but together they look like a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear.
Know the feeling?
Your potential clients are watching. And when your content feels scattered, it's hard for them to understand what you do, who you serve, and why they should hire you. One blog post, one newsletter, or one social post isn't enough to convince a prospective client to choose you.
You need a strategy and consistent content where every piece works together toward one goal: bringing in clients you love.

Start With Your Statement Necklace
The fix isn't creating more content. It's creating smarter content centered around a clear focus. And reusing content more effectively.

Think of your ideal client as your statement necklace, the centerpiece everything else is built around. She's not just "anyone who needs a designer or a coach." She's specific. She has a budget, a vision, and a set of values. She's the kind of client who trusts your expertise, respects your process, and refers her friends.
My ideal client is a talented female architect or interior designer who runs her own firm, has extensive experience creating beautiful spaces, and would rather design than write marketing copy.
Get clear on who she is first. What does she care about? What keeps her up at night? What does she dream her business could feel like? Then let those answers guide every post, blog, and newsletter you create.
When you do, your content stops being random acts of content and starts being intentional, like a killer outfit where every piece earns its place.
What a Smart Content Strategy Actually Looks Like
For your business, a coordinated content strategy might look like this:
Your blog establishes your expertise and answers the questions your ideal client is already Googling. Blogs show your authority and build trust with your audience.
Your newsletter nurtures the relationship, keeps you top of mind, and shows the human behind the work.
Your social posts reflect your personality, create awareness, and drive people to your deeper content.
Each piece has a role. Each piece supports the others. And all of it points toward the same goal: attracting the clients you love working with.
That's strategy. (With a little magic.
Your dream clients are out there. Here's how to bring them to you.
Your Next Step
You don't need to overhaul everything at once. Start by asking yourself one honest question: Does my content feel like a coordinated outfit, or a room full of pieces that don't go together?
If it's the latter, it's time to find your statement necklace.
Because your content should feel as good as walking into a room in your best outfit. Confident, intentional, and completely you.
