TEDxDelrayBeach 2023 Ripple Effect event was nothing short of spectacular—a
vibrant celebration of creativity, local talent, hidden heroes and compelling
storytelling that left attendees deeply inspired. Focused on community roots
rather than commercial endeavors with private agendas, it brought together
some of the most remarkable minds and trailblazers in the Delray Beach and
South Florida to share their journeys, insights, and dreams.
Last year’s event took place on November 4th at the Historic Old School
Square, a cultural public gem in the heart of Delray Beach. This 6-acre campus,
rich with history and bursting with creative energy, provided the perfect setting
for a night dedicated to inspiring ideas into action. Opening up with an amazing
Red Carpet event, hosted by the OWLL App and live participation of its founder
Jason Hill (Host of The Boca Raton Shrimp Tank / CEO - recently nominated for
the prestigious Tech Hub 2024 Golden Palm Awards)
The evening seamlessly transitioned into the intimate Vintage Gymnasium,
where the theme, "Ripple Effect," resonated powerfully through each talk,
performance, and interaction with the audience.
Looking Ahead to 2025: Bigger, Better, and Collectively Stronger!
As we gear up for TEDxDelrayBeach 2025, happening on January 25th, the
excitement is already palpable. This year, we’re committed to making the event
even more extraordinary, bringing together a lineup of inspiring speakers,
dazzling performances, and interactive experiences that celebrate the very best
of Delray Beach and adjacent neighborhoods. The heart of TEDxDelrayBeach
keeps its dedication to uplifting the community—crafted by the community, for
the community.
I will say that it was an absolute honor to be featured in the 2023 TEDx lineup! I
was over the moon to share my experiences and help uplift, inspire, and
educate the Delray Beach community. The heartfelt feedback I received, filled
with hugs and tears, was incredibly moving. It truly was a memorable
experience, and I will be forever grateful for the TEDx platform. I can't stress
enough how much I encourage everyone to keep an eye out for the upcoming
dates and grab their tickets this year. I'm so excited to be part of with this year's
event, and I'm committed to making it EVEN BETTER than last year.

Meet the Faces of TEDxDelrayBeach from 2023
From awe-inspiring speakers to world-class performances, the night was
packed with unforgettable moments. World Tango champions German Filipeli
and Rocio Leguimazon mesmerized the audience with their breathtaking dance,
and the evening ended on a high note with Javar Godfrey vibrating rhythms.
Attendees didn’t just watch and listen; they engaged, connected, and left with a
renewed sense of wonder and purpose. Our night ended with an exhilarating
performance by Eduardo Cano. His conga rhythms brought everyone to the
dance floor, closing the event on an electrifying high note.
Natalia Romero, who holds a PhD in Physics and Complex Social Systems, is
the visionary behind TEDxDelrayBeach. With her expertise, passion,
commitment to activate critical thinking, and extensive experience as a licensed
TEDx organizer since 2017, she crafted an event that was not only memorable
and impactful but also deeply rooted in Delray’s unique community needs and
interests. Her leadership and unwavering dedication continue to inspire us all.
Grateful to C.Ron Allen, founder of the KOP Mentoring Network and one of our
community's most respected advocates for youth, as well as the incredible
support of Marusca Gatto, Fine Art Curator for the Cornell Museum, which lies
at the heart of Delray Beach’s cultural vibrancy.
The after-party followed up at the award-winning DADA Restaurant and Bar, 52
N Swinton Ave, Delray Beach, FL. Residency which recently celebrated its 100
years!!! The restaurant Dada opened in Delray in 2000 inside the Tarrymore
house (built circa 1924). It’s one of the oldest historic homes in Delray Beach
and is listed as a historic site. “It takes a village to make this happen,” Dr.
Romero stated. “And Delray Beach rose up to the occasion because of amazing
volunteers from local schools, universities, non-profit organizations and local
businesses. We could not be any prouder of what we have set into motion. For
years to come, our community is coming together. Wait for more, this is only the
beginning!”

1. Ata Sarajedini – Explained how ripples in the cosmic microwave
background radiation mark the origins of stars, galaxies, and life itself,
showcasing their role in the Universe's early structure formation.
2. Zach Escalante – Simplified the foundational concepts of AI, exploring how
data informs human behavior and product experiences, drawing on his
expertise in tech, finance, and consulting.
3. Vanessa Ruck – Shared her journey of resilience, recovering from a life-
changing accident to competing in some of the world's toughest endurance
motorcycle races through sheer determination and optimism.
4. Edward Stinson – Highlighted the importance of preserving history,
advocating for freedom, and educating communities through his work as an
artist, educator, and SPADY Museum curator.
5. Daniel Bolojan – Explored how AI enhances creativity, envisioning a future
where personalized AI models empower individuals, drawing parallels with
past technological advancements.
6. Gabriel Mendez – Addressed belonging as a fundamental need, advocating
for its role in fostering diversity, strengthening communities, and protecting
democracy, while cautioning against its misuse.
7. Sabrina Victoria – Taught how to spot early signs of abuse and understand
the traps that keep victims stuck, inspiring others with her story of breaking
free and discovering their potential.
8. Meggie Soliman – Explored unconventional thinking and innovative
technologies, inspiring others to challenge norms and empower youth and
women in a rapidly evolving digital world.
9. John Renne – Tackled housing, traffic, and climate issues with solutions
inspired by European urban planning, focusing on density, sustainability,
and resilient neighborhoods.
10. Javar Godfrey – Emphasized emotional health as key to true prosperity,
